COUNT is the Assfocfate Director of the International Institute, Teachers College, Columbia University, and is Professor of Education in that college. He is the author of Arithmetic Tests and Studies in the Psychology of Arithmetic, The Selective Character of American Secondary Education, and The Social Composition of Boards of Education, a monograph. He has contributed to various professionaljournals. Mr. Counts went to Russia for the International Institute, not as a member of the Trade Union Delegation. He was drawn in temporarily to work with the Delegation. JEROME DAVIS holds the chair of Practical Philanthropy at Yale Uni versity. During the war he was Acting-in-Charge of Y. M. C. A. war work in Russia. Dr. Davis is the author of The Russians and vi About the Authors Ruthenians in America, The Russian Immigrant, Business and the Church Christianity and Social Adventuring, Introduction to Soci ology, and Readings in Sociology. He is the editor of The Social Rela tions Series published by D. C. Heath Company, and is contributing editor to Social Forces. PAUL H. DOUGLAS is now Professor of Industrial Relations at the University of Chicago. He is the author of Wages and the Family, American Apprenticeship and Industrial Education, joint author with Dorothy Douglas of What Can A Man Afford, joint editor of The Worker in Modern Economic Society, and a contributor to various publications in the field of economics, statistics and political science. ROBERT W. DUNN has done research and organizing work for Amer ican trade unions and writes for the Federated Press and labor jour nals. He was at one time acting director of the American Civil Liberties Union, and was later connected with the Russian-American Industrial Corporation. He is the author of American Foreign Invest ments, Company Unions and The Americanization of Labor. He is also co-author with Sidney Howard of The Labor Spy. His recent book in the Vanguard Press series on Russia is entitled Soviet Trade Unions. ARTHUR FISHER has been associated with the Chicago law firm of Butler, Lamb, Foster Pope since 1924. He wasProfessor of Law at the State University of Montana in 1921-22, and was associated with Aaron Sapiro in legal work for farmers cooperatives in 1923. Articles of his have been published in The New Republic, The Nation and The Yale Review and special articles written by him have appeared in The New York Evening Post and the Chicago Daily News.
